Recovery Coaching FAQ

Please reach us at info@skilledconcepts.com if you cannot find the answer to your question.

You can book a free 15-minute Clarity Call here or explore our packages here. The consultation helps determine whether coaching is a good fit and gives you a chance to ask questions before committing.

Therapists diagnose and treat mental health conditions and can also address previous traumas. Recovery coaches do not diagnose, treat, or provide clinical services. Coaches offer practical guidance, training, and accountability, to help clients move forward in his/her journey. Coaches stay within their scope and may refer clients to clinical professionals when needed. Some people supplement therapy with coaching, for additional accountability.

Anyone seeking support for problem drinking and/or drug use, along with his/her significant other. Coaching is also helpful for people who feel “stuck,” want structure, or need someone to walk alongside them in their recovery journey

Not necessarily. Many clients begin coaching while still navigating early recovery. Our goal is to meet you where you are and help you move toward healthier choices and long‑term stability.

Sessions are typically held online via Zoom, or phone. Behavioral modification requires time and commitment, and there’s little value in one-time, single session coaching for it to be beneficial. We package our services to be most effective and to provide you with the best coaching experience. Individual sessions are available as an add-on for current clients.

Individual consultations are available for those who:

   · May require a longer Clarity Call

   · Need resource navigation assistance (such as support group recommendations, aftercare planning, other ancillary needs)

   · Individuals or their family members who can benefit from insight into addiction and/or treatment and need an expert to talk to

Most clients meet asynchronously monthly, or bi‑weekly, but frequency can be customized based on your needs, goals, and stage of recovery.

Yes. Your privacy is taken seriously. All sessions and communication are kept confidential except in situations where safety concerns require otherwise, such as risk of harm to yourself or others.

Skilled Concepts does not offer a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact local emergency services or a crisis hotline right away.

B  Pricing varies depending on session length, frequency, and package options. Check out our store HERE.

Yes, Skilled Concepts offer sessions and workshops specifically for family members seeking guidance on how to support a loved one in recovery. His/her loved one does not need to be a coaching client with us to participate.

Relapse is not a failure — it’s a signal that more support or new strategies may be needed. Your coach will help you process what happened, rebuild momentum, and adjust your recovery plan.

Yes, we can collaborate with your other care providers with written consent from you.
